Colleen Murphy is a sr. designer, creative director, photographer & educator based in New York City. She’s passionate about sharing stories through design & photography.

Her designs have appeared in progressive and Democratic 2020 Presidential campaigns and Vogue.

Colleen is currently on maternity leave, enjoying baby cuddles and figuring out what comes next. She most recently was the Creative Director at Resilinc. Some recent projects include branding for mpathic, designing for Climate Power, and lecturing Graphic Design 2 class at Northeastern University. Past projects include design for Jeffrey Omura for City Council Democrats and Biden/Harris, Elizabeth Warren Campaign. She is the founder of townmag.co, an alumni networking platform.

She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and Minor in Photography from Northeastern University.

“My design strategy is influenced by clear process, user experience, and research. My design craft is deeply connected with my passion for photography and collage. My design philosophy is inspired by empathy and progressive social impact.

My photography style is influenced by bright color and jubilant human expression. My photography craft is close up with a fixed lens and light camera. My photography philosophy is rooted in reality, shooting with the purpose to capture the truth and share a story.

When I’m not at work, you can find me gardening, organizing for progressive change, learning the complexities of the pottery wheel, or reading with my dog nearby.”
